Blog gone right: The EPA, ( i.e.), the EBB, Enviromental Big Brothe...

Not that this is anything new but, recently a wing of our government has been in the spotlight because of its abusive regulatory tight grip with clear adverse effects on the very people and entities that pay for it and therefor obviously control it. (tee he, ha ha)
One of America's biggest brothers, the E.P.A., in the tradition of numerous tyrannical power brokers throughout history, continues to flex its untenable muscle. The E.P.A. is relentless in its mission of stifling progress and prosperity. It also is notorious for its egregious assaults on private property rights and arbitrarily has appointed itself the intrusive landlord of the vast expanses of PUBLIC land.
Remember the restricting of logging in the Northwest because of the perceived fate of the Spotted Owl which turned out to be extremely exaggerated if not out right fabricated? Or how about that Delta Guppy thing that threatened to lay waste to one of the most fertile and productive agricultural areas in the world. In the process destroying farms, the farmers and the lives of those that work there? How many private or commercial developments do you imagine have been stopped, or at least had their costs sky rocket, because of rodents, turtles, lizards, mud or tufts of grass?
Of coarse I could go on and on about how the E.P.A. restricts and/or prevents us from extracting or using our own natural resources for energy. At a bare minimum  they extraneously prolong the process with paperwork, added fees, new lines drawn in the sand or new hoops to jump through, which makes it nearly impossible to bring a project to fruition. (Which of coarse deters many investors from even trying)
Recently they have gotten a lot of press and riled the ire of many citizens because of a couple of blatant anti American actions. One is holding up the Keystone pipeline that has the potential to do a whole lot of good in ways that this struggling nation could really use. It has been reported that this pipeline from Canada to the Texas refineries would create 20 thousand (private sector) jobs from the start and has the potential to employ100 thousand workers long term. (Economics 101, a large scale construction project of this size would require lots of tools and supplies that need to be manufactured and delivered, it would require equipment that requires tires, replacement parts and some one to install them. From the miners producing iron ore to the people on site tightening the bolts they all need boots, clothes and the comforts of home, all the way down to bars of soap. They all get hungry and most like to take some of their discretionary cash and have a little fun which generally means that a few local restaurant or bowling alley workers can pay their rent, buy new electronics and so on and so on)
The supply of oil from Canada would greatly reduce if not out right eliminate the need to buy oil from tyrants and/or our enemies as well as shield us from most negative global events and issues. (Of coarse we could do all that within our own territory but I guess that we are secretly planning to hoard ours for 100 plus years until everybody else runs dry) The amount of Canadian oil is said to be huge and with lots of oil so easily available to us, the price would no doubt be reasonable and at a sustainable level. On the flip side, if we don't pull the trigger on the deal sometime soon then Canada is going to build a pipeline over to their west coast and ship it out on Chinese barges. (Maybe if that happens we could borrow enough from China to buy the oil from them at half again the price that we could have otherwise bought directly from Canada. Sounds like typical government think to me.)
Another E.P.A. atrocity that has been brought to the nations attention in the last few days is the story of a couple in Idaho named Mike and Chantell Sackett. They bought themselves a half acre lot near a lake in an area with other existing homes and began to prep the property to build their dream home. Out of the blue the E.P.A. came along, halted the building, and instructed them to return the lot back to its natural state - plus, because the agencies interpretation of some new definition of rules, classified their lot to be wet lands. The E.P.A.'s actions no doubt destroyed the value of their property, perhaps making it essentially worthless, and what the E.P.A. was requiring them to do would have cost them tens of thousands of dollars. The Sacketts decided to challenge the E.P.A. and with their challenge pending, the Sacketts are being assessed a daily fine for their non compliance. I heard on a national radio talk show the lawyer that was representing them pro bono and I wish that I could remember his name and the organization that he works for so that I could give them proper cu does, but I don't remember the name of either. According the their lawyer, the E.P.A. is fining the Sacketts $75,000.00 per day (yeah, seventy five thousand dollars per day) while telling them that they, the E.P.A. will review the issue when it is convenient for them to do so. The Sacketts, with the help of their lawyer, are now making this in to a court challenge. Not the original unconstitutional violation of their personal property rights, not even specifically the over burdening and undo hardship of the mounting fines, but over the mere fact that the E.P.A. can asses the fine on a daily basis and not have to expedite a fair hearing of the challenge to the original action that stopped them from building and began the daily fine process. At this point the fine is said to be in the range of $40,000,000.00. (yeah, forty million dollars)
I first heard of this story January 8th on a top national radio show. On January 9th I heard it discussed again on other major shows including an interview with the Sacketts lawyer. On January 10th I heard about an impromptu, look at me, where's the spotlight, where's the camera, where's my teleprompter, speech given by our non illustrious leader. The report of the speech was that Obama had gone to the E.P.A. offices to give a pep rally and pat them on the back for all great work that they had been doing. When I heard about this it stirred my anger big time. If he would have given that speech a year ago, or even three months ago, I would have simply thought to myself what a jerk, a jerk that many ill informed, hood winked Americans stuck us all with. For him to do that at this particular time, after recent events,  I'm sure was no coincidence. Besides the "atta boy" message to his pet rights restricting agency, Obama was holding up two fingers forming the V for victory and then thrusting them forward jabbing them into both eyes of his helpless and subservient American subjects.
Between the ever powerful blood sucking bureaucracies draining us of life and the 80% -90% of our politicians that are self indulgent crooks and con artists, this country is in an ugly downward spiral. It's time to take to the streets yelling "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more".
